Maybe off topic

This might be off topic, but I was looking around
for Linux books to go get and saw that there were *many*
*many* different ones.

Anybody got an idea of a particular one that would be more useful
than another to me, bearing in mind that I want ot primarily use this
for my machine control, but wouldn't rule out the possibilty of learning
more of it as well?
