I too have thought about doing a battlebot but I have not found anyone in
the denver
area that is interested in helping. I have a few different dc motors .5hp to
2.5hp 24v and 36v
I made a very small 3 wheel car hooked a 36v dc motor to it. It ways in at
over 300lbs clocked it at 20miles per hour with a motorcycle. I also have
linear accuators these are a small dc motor with a screw to lift things.
Such as this these http://www.amersatt.com/Complete%20Arms.htm. If anyone is
interested and lives in the denver area let me know.

Battlebots are big big big RC cars, with a few enhancements. They use
big DC motors, but there is no need for feedback. Go to www.battlebot.com
and www.teamdelta.com for starters. A DC motor that would work for a
bridgeport
would probably work pretty well for a big bot. I'm thinking about building
both a
battle bot and an autonomous mobile robot. The autonomous robots I have
been buying
at work are obnoxiously priced.
