I didn't mention it because it slipped my mind, or vice versa.
Simple electronic ballasts, like in the compact fluorescent (CF) type can
dim by reducing the DC bus voltage coming out of the ballast rectifier. Line
voltage dimmers do that but no telling what kind of EMI/RFI the ballast will
generate.
