My Tree Mill Conversion

Hi all,
I have finally got around to posting some pictures of my Tree Mill.
It is a 4HP, 6,000 pound servo mill, a Journeyman 300 and is running
on single phase power. I knew when I bought it had controller
problems. The original axis servo AMP cards were good and I
considered using them but opted instead for Gecko 340's. The axis
servos are rated for 90 volts at 30 amps. I am currently running them
at 24 volts and they run fine. I have a 65 volt 20 amp supply that I
built but have not yet installed.
I am running CNCPro with Doug Harrison's WB8 board for the computer
interface. The board works great, simplified the hookup and works
like a champ with the Gecko's err/reset functions. If you are going
to use Gecko 3X0's use this board. I'm amazed by the amount of stuff
I removed from the machine. PC control really simplifies things.
I disassembled the machine to paint it. The original paint was pretty
much replaced by a waxy substance with embedded (ouch) chips. I took
the advise of some here on the list and painted it white. I left the
top cap in the original Reese's Peanut Butter Cup color scheme.
I posted the pictures @ http://photos.yahoo.com/vrsculptor. Look in
MyPhotos.
Thanks for all the help.
Roger
