work to keep it stable, but not nearly as much work as Windows doing
similar kinds of work. If you have a computer that only does one thing, it
is
a lot easier to keep it stable.
EMC is definitly being used to make parts. The STG driver is so simple that
it is not really part of the consideration. It is definitly stable.
Running step and direction seems a little scarier to me, since it is much
more
timing dependent at a much lower level. If you get it to work, it should
work
well.
The only thing thad does not seem to be under total control in RTLinux seems
to be the video hardware. Some boards seem to cause long delays. Matrox
is one that I remember, some of the new fancy ones too.
None of this answers the question "why do I have so many problems." which
is a brother of the question "why ain't nothin easy?" They didn't teach the
answer
to either of those questions in any of the schools I have been in, from
kindergarden
to engineering school to military to grad school.
