Don't know about the 98 lite but I can help you turn off auto insert.
Go to my computer right click anywhere it is blank go into properties then
device manager. Then click on your cd rom click on properties, settings and
then uncheck the auto insert.
Simple :)

I am looking at a program called 98Lite that the developer claims will
remove IE from W95/98. It is also supposed to reduce several "features" of
windows to options. Has anyone tried this program? It looks like it would
speed up programs like Master5 considerably. (Art?)
