Brian,
How LONG do you have to deliver this current?
If it is a short duration pulse of current, you may want to
look at how some folks build TESLA COILS! Not for the faint
of heart (or those wearing a pacemaker).
http://www.teslamania.com/
Of Metal Working, it has details on "quarter shrinking".
For a LONGER DURATION of a load, I have charged a bank
of batteries using a common (USA) 120V @ 15A plug...
this would result in a useful charge of 1.5KW per Hour.
The batteries then supplying up to 10KW for a shorter
period of time. Charge for 8 hours, use the batteries
for 1 hour. Oh, it was an electric vehicle. ;-)
Cheers,
Tom Walter
P.S. With a reversed 2200ufd 100V electrolytic capacitor and
applying power... ahem, managed to "deposit sputtered
aluminum" over a prototype circuit board. Looked rather
neat! It was LOUD!!! ;-)
