linear and rotary. They work fairly well and interface with most
quadrature input devices (servo to go card, kulaga/mauch dro card,
etc).
They do not offer differential line drive, but that can be added with
an external driver chip (and much of the noise immunity benefit can be
had just by using a differential receiver).
Apparently you do need to add a bypass cap across the power supply
right at the device.
