I tried: lpr -(option) /usr/local/emc/README

I got the following results:

option result
c no response
d no response
l output with missing carriage returns
p empty paper
n no response
N output with missing carriage returns

Apparently when I do get output it is stair cased which to me
indicates line feeds but no cr's.

What can I try next?
