It has steppers; I believe it's a '6' - and yes, it's a good ol'
3 phase... now what? :)

There are at least 3 of us on the list that have Series II machines and

think I remember at least one series I. I know Matt Shaver has done a
conversion on a Series I.

The Boss part refers the controller. Low numbers (up to 6 I think) were
steppers. Higher numbers are servo systems.

Do you have 3 phase power? If not it is time to start shopping for a
VFD.
