I came into possesion of a mill which is a prime candidate for a
retrofit. It is a Milltronics Partner knee mill. It says it is
made in the USA but it looks alot like a Lagun mill. It had
a Centurion control and servo setup, but all that's left is
the video display unit, keyboard, and the servo motor on the
Z axis slide. The computer, power supply, servo drivers, and
the X & Y servo motors are gone. I think the machine is about
a 1993-4 model. Quite clean. The ballscrews on X & Y seem OK
but the screw on the Z slide is in need of repair. This machine
has a slide between the head and the ram to give the Z movement.
The head is a 3hp 3ph variable speed similar to the bp 2j.
Just what I need, another project.
