I received mine a few weeks back. Getting the registration Key was no
problem.
I was curious to use it because I had not used SurfCam since version 6.1. I
had hoped it would have gotten a little better to actually draw in. Turns
out quite similar to the old version.. Like CadKey.
Although it is probably very easy for a newcomer to Cad drawing, I find the
amount of mouse clicks it takes to draw burdensome and SLOW.
Thats "draw" >click1<, "line" >click2< "horizontal" >click3< "endpoint"
miles" on.
Compared to selecting a line tool and just drawing lines forever and a day
with Ashlar, AutoSketch, Intergraph Etc.
One could only hope that someday..... someone would take the best of
everything. Then again, I am sure there are those who feel Surfcam draws
really fast !
Its Cam portion is really equaly easy to understand, They offer a pretty
decent Editor, And, the give you a Verify Program.
It does seem to limit you to only 2 "toolpath" creations per Operation. Easy
enough to merge in another text editor. Don't try in their editor...I did
notice that there is some limitation on lines of code possible in the editor.
I came a cross this editing a Post file to work for FlashCut. i forget what
the limit was.
In Cam... I Love having the Spiral Ramps back !
For free..... It is just incredible really, provided 2d-2.5d (whatever you
want to call it) Suits your needs.
Likely, I would draw in something else, then bring in the entities for Cam
action.
I wonder what they are currently charging for a 2d version like this without
the limitations.

>click4< for the first line. Then.... Start all over again ! Also keep inmind with the toolbar across the top of the screen, you put a lot of "mouse
miles" on.
