With a hot chisel and a hammer, allways remembering to chill the chisel
frequently by dunking it in a bucket of water, so it won't lose it's hardness.
When you have enough teeth, let the file blank cool. Press refractory down into
the chisel cuts, and smooth it off such that the cutting portions of the teeth
are exposed, and let the refractory dry. Heat up the blank to the proper
temperature, and quench till cool, at least till it doesn't, "smoke", when you
pull it out to check. You now have tempered, "hollows", and full hardened
cutting teeth, i.e., a file.
