Hi,
First of all, please don't resend the whole thing when you just
want to come with a remark or comment.
First X-server:
There is some problems with setting up the X server for a lot of
cards, but you can download a newer server
from http://www.XFree86.org/ . The servers on the RH5.2 don't
support newer cards, and there is improved
GUI to set up the server too.
Second, my input about distribution of Rt-kernel and EMC:
I did not express myself very good. I don't see that it should be
so difficult to have a booting CD with a linux kernel already
patched with the RT-kernel, and with the EMC included. You can
also format a partition on a harddrive with the same format as a
CD, and have this image made so that it could be downloaded and
installed for a transfer to a CD burner.
When I said that things could be done with the "tar" file system,
I meant a way to make this available for those who would transfer
things to a CD for distribution, not as the general way that
everyone should use in order to get the stuff.
For a small fee, people could ship a CD to the one that would
like to have it. The fee would compensate for some of the work
and download time. The idea was something along these lines.
And, we could also include the FAQ and other stuff. A nice thing
would be some drawings, of hardware as well.
Maybe include programs that would be of help, or that deals with
machining.
