Hello, and a CAM question....

Hello the group,
I'm going to be buying/building a CNC mill and CNC lathe this year
sometime. Right now I'm looking at software to produce tool paths
from my CAD drawings. I have Rhino 3D for the CAD part and I've got
enought hours on it to make it do what I want to do. It's the CAM
part I don't have.

I've exchanged a few messages with Fred about VectorCAM. He can still
answer if he wants, but I don't want to take up his time as I'm not
able to buy right now. I'd like to know exactly what I want when I
can make the purchase.

I've downloaded both Vector and STLWorks demos. I'm trying to figure
out the differences between the 2. The main difference I think I got
figured out is that STLWorks develops the TP from polygon meshes, and
Vector defines TP's from curves, lines, etc., if that makes sense.

If I wanted to do a airplane wing or boat hull mold in Vector would I
have to use the Skin function on a bunch of curves defined along the
wingspan of the part? I assume that Vector would interpolate between
the defining curves that I would give it. The more curves, the better
the part.

Can Vector read/use/modify tool paths created by STLWorks?

Thanks in advance,
