Use a program called WebWasher (webwasher.com). It will filter out
images based on size, so once it has a database of all the sizes
Yahoo uses, you never have to see them anymore! It works great for
me. It also disables popup windows - no more X10 ads !!!

PS - unfortunately it can't fix the stupid "redirect" trick where
yahoo makes you see a full page ad before continuing. You won't see
the ad anymore, but you're still delayed.
