How do you figure steps/inch with a servo?

Now that I have the Z axis working in my mill. I am trying to set
the system so that if I tell the computer to move one inch, it will.
I have servo's with 200 CPR encoders on them. I guess this give me
800 counts in quadrature (what ever that means). I have 5/8 .200
pitch ball screws. and a 2:1 ratio pulley setup.
Can anyone help me figure out the number I put in CNCPro for "steps
per inch"? I know it must be close to 10,000 because that gets me
close.
Thanks
Jeff
