What I really want to know is, if it really is so hard to add CAM
possibilities to a CAD program, especially if it is just 2-1/2d.

In my feable mind, I clearly see, and have seen hpgl output work for years
across MANY programs. hpgl output is nothing other than X,Y locations with PU
(penup) and PD (pendown) commands. Think about it, Who didn't have hpgl
output ????

Under PenDown, the plotter or machine would run at enter "speed", and under
PenUp run at the plotter or machine maximum. Many programs allowed for the
variables involved to be altered in an additional window........

Someone explain to me the real difference invloved if they inserted G00 or
G01 in place of/ In line with the PU/PD application and made it work. The X,Y
locations are exactly the same, but instead of just a number, they have an
X,Y and Z attached with the location in inches or mm's instead of a "Unit"
number.

The adding a user adjustable interface (gui box) for machine M code options
and the like, does not seem to be rocket science in this day and age either.

So, I can see it happening. I'm just suprised it hasn't been sooner. I could
understand the problems Like company friendships , lawsuits , dropped sales
of more $$$ programs they are involved with if someone like Autodesk jumped
in and made ACLite or AutoSketch create G-Code, but TurboCad....... That I
can see ! What ties do they have that would be affected. Sounds like money in
the bank for them.

Still can't figure out why G-Code creation is treated as such an incredible
feat to add to a Cad Program.

This will be interesting.
