STGmod.o is for servo systems that use the Servo-to-Go card. There are
several versions of this for the original 4 and 8 axis STG cards, and
another
one for the STG-II card. Encoder counters, Servo DACs and sensing
of limit and home switches are done through this card.
The later EMC BDI CDs should have ppmcmod.o, which supports my
4-channel Parallel Port Motion Control cards. There is one card for
encoder counter, one for DAC (16 bits) and now one for Digital I/O.
ppmc8mod.o supports 8 full motion axes. (You could use an extra
axis for spindle speed control.)
I have a new module, ppmc_rate.o, which drives a 4-axis step rate
generator that relieves the CPU of the duty of generating finely adjustable
step rates, and can generate step pulses with a resolution of 100 nS.
This will get the maximum performance out of stepper drivers that
will lose steps with more ragged step pulses. It can run open-loop,
or use encoders on the motors. This board also has 16 opto-isolated
digital inputs, and place for 8 solid state relays. I will be demonstrating
this board at the NAMES show in the Detroit area on Apr. 27-28.
