Scot Rogers (who said he will take it) still hasn't contacted
me (further), so as far as I'm concerned, the screw machine is
still available ...... a reposting of my original text follows:

Screw Machine - Brown & Sharpe Model 0G

Now the story:

About a year ago, on the model engineers list, this
machine was made available, and I was the lucky
person who got to drag it home.

The machine was retired by another hobby machinist
when he got a better machine ....... and parked
outside his shop (under tarps) for a bit, before
being offered on the list. I carted it home, placed
it in my shop, where it has sat for almost exactly a
year.

The machine appears to be complete and I was told that
it was working when removed from the first shop
(I have no reason to doubt this), I know of no problems,
except the electrics are doubtfull (reverse relay is
burned out ... literally) and the previous owner had
jeeped all internal switch gear and connected directly
to the motor (220 - 3 phase) to power the machine.

I purchased a VFD (not part of the deal) and intended to
fire the machine up, but haven't had time, and realistically
doubt if it would surface as a high priority project for
several more years, if that soon.

The machine comes with all accessories that I got with it,
a few collets, modest stack of assorted cams and a book.

A few more facts ...... the screw machine (according to
the manual) weighs 2975 lbs and must be picked up from my
shop (Placerville, California). I'm willing to help load,
but don't want to get drawn in to a major amount of effort
(too many other projects that have higher priority).

If interested, please contact me off list. I'll answer
questions as best as I can. (gpotter@...)

Regards,
George Potter
Placerville, California
