Roger,
I'm playing with the configuration right now, and Tech Support is
being helpful to setup a 5 axis driver file to work with my EMC 5
axis setup. When I tried the v18 demo, I was pleasantly surprised by
the ease of working with the new look, and after playing with it for
2 days, bought the program ($795 through this week according to the
web site banner).
The 5 axis output relys on getting a skin generated in Bob-CAD, with
the 5 axis option checked. An .IGS file can be imported and if all
goes right a skin can be generated quickly, and code from that
immediately. Lead/lag angle and swarf angle are supported. Output
is XYZAC from the current driver, though I'm hoping that can be
converted to XYZAB. This will be used to feed the GEM500 mill when
it runs, plus whatever I do to my lathe for CNC in the future. I'm
still testing my output from the current driver on my EMC setup, but
so far it looks good.
