The only reason I haven't been looking too closely into things like EMC, is
that I don't have any kind of machine to check things out with yet. I've only
just gotten a pair of Enco HD milling/drilling slide tables. At the price,
($118 ea.), I figured why not get two, saw the base off of one, and use it as a
z axis. It still seems feasable, but I'm going to have to take them down to
Lake Washington VoTech, and have some work done on them. Aside from being
loose as a goose, with lots of backlash, The dovetails were the big surprize.
Where they would normaly have three or four gibs, there is only one, adjustable
from the side. At least they appear to have enough beef left to be able to
make the necessary adjustments for adding the extra gibs. I figure the long z
length, plus the long mounting plain made available by the T slots will allow
me to mount the, "Queen Mary", on it for a spindle motor, if necessary. :-)

Back to EMC though, isn't it limited to 4 axis only? Or would it be possible to
run more than one EMC at the same time, (multitasking), no doubt with more I/O?
