i have own vector from ver 2.0 to 7.0. when the family feud was going on
,fred from imis saved the day for me by working out a sotfware up grade with
the people at vector on the other side of the pond.

He has always been a straight shooter and very quick to respond to my
questions.
when it comes to vector I would dare say that he is the reason why vector
will make more of a market presence here in the states as people realize what
vector can do.

working in 2 1/2 cnc with my custom drivers, ahha cnc pro, vector on a jet
mill
with another setup ; dan mauch 5a drivers, good work dan, & emc thanks fed p.
and the guys rtlunix under rehat 5.2

there are various reasons why I have not switched the machine to emc on a
perm. basis. I do realize that I will have to continue to learn more about
Linux and I'm in the process of doing so. Will linux replace Win98 or 2000 in
consumer apps? maybe, but not right now. In time more and more people like us
will start utilizing lunix. Right now I have 4 pc's networked using win98
connected via a cable modem runing a proxy server ( under windows) found at
www.analogx.com. This allow all for pc's to connect to the internet, although
I have been give only one IP by the cable company.

There are some draw backs to this arrangment, thats why I'm now configuring a
DNS server to run under linux to connect my network to the internet via the
cable modem.

There is a lot more that I could say, thanks for all the help form the guys
on this list and for new users needing more info may i suggest they check out
www.zdtv.com
they have a lot of videos available on line showing you how to setup an
configure a pc to run linux
