Ask around before you contract with a shipper. I got quotes from $500 to
$1500 for delivery from CA to SC. The $500 folks did a fine job. It just
depends on whether or not they are going your way. If not then they will
often quote for a deadhead (empty) return, hoping that you are desparate
enough to pay it. Then they stand to double their money when they find a
return load.
