Stl is a polygon mesh.
I just tried to convert an .stl file to .iges, and .stp using Rhino...
Neither worked.
My understanding is that you can save almost any surface or solid
model as an .stl but you can't convert a polygon mesh (.stl) back to
a surface model.
If anyone figures this out it would be good info to know.
