I don't know if this will make a difference but most integrated parallel ports
can be set in one of three modes,
the names of which I do not recall. Unless the port is configured to "standard"
mode, you may get strange results trying to drive a stepper driver.
This is a BIOS setting that you must normally do at boot time. I think the
standard mode is normally called "SPP" mode (other choices are ECP and some
other TLA).

These modes are intended to give the printer better throughput and/or reduce the
CPU load while sending printer data, and I would expect that *they* would expect
appropriate "handshake" synchronization signals from the wire plugged into the
port, something which stepper drivers definitely do not do!

Has anyone had trouble running cncpro with "integrated" paralell
ports?? Two different computers and I can't get good control from
either.
Should I get a PCI slot card??
