Unless these are very high-end drives, they are NOT zero-backlash.
There are epicyclic reducers used on robot arms, etc. that have $2000
zero-backlash reducers, but I suspect these are not that type of unit.
Most likely, the Vexta driver can take step & direction. But, if it only
takes CW and CCW pulses, there are VERY simple pulse steering circuits
that can make the conversion.
