Bob,

You can criticize the website all you want, but that will not change the
fact that Fred is known for supporting Vector at an incredibly high
level. Definitely not the same reputation that the other vendor you
mention has. I have bought plenty of software from companies with slick
websites and the support stunk and the software was trash. On the other
hand I have been a Vector user for a number of years and while the
program was great when it started it has just gotten better and better
with each upgrade. Vector does have a rather unique approach to CAD but
once you get the hang of it you will find it much faster and more
intuitive than the AutoCAD approach. I was previously a DesignCAD user
(AutoCAD clone) so it took me about a year to break my old habits and
approach things in the Vector manner. Not you could not get me to go
back.

I would definitely suggest that you ask specific Vector question on the
forum that Fred maintains. It would probably even be worth your effort
to give Fred a call if you get stuck or have more Vector questions. I
know you will find him to be a very knowledgeable and helpful guy.
