Cheap Power Transformers

For cheap Power transformers for single phase - Get an old microwave
transformer.

Most are rated from 700 to 1100 watts.
The primary is 110 volts. Leave that in place.

Remove the high voltage winding. It usually has a larger space that
allows you to wind whatever secondary you may need. This is excellent
for winding tapped secondaries as you have lots of space to bring out
secondary taps.

Try you local motor rewinding shop for good priced motor rewinding wire
for the secondary. Here they are much cheaper than buyinng mailorder
wire.

Output in amps will be Rating of coil in watts/Output voltage

You may need to run a fan on the transformer as the microwaves are
designed with fan coolers.

Good scrounging!!!
