I want to wish everyone on the list a very HAPPY NEW YEAR, and say thanks to
all who have made this list a success this last year. There are now 376
members on the list.
A more serious note, even if first reports of minor problems on the date roll
over. Be sure to keep on your toes for the new virus and worms that are
showing up. The following is a virus alert received on Dec. 31. Now is not
the time to be careless.
Thanks again to ALL of you,
bill

Last week we received two new variants of TROJ_NEWAPT. Similar to the
original TROJ_NEWAPT, they are both memory resident worms that try to spread
themselves via email. While we have not seen any in-the-wild infections in
North America, we have received reports from customers in Europe
(Switzerland).

Additional information about these two new TROJ_NEWAPT variants is available
on our website at:
http://www.antivirus.com/vinfo/security/sa121499.htm

Both variants are detected and removed with Trend pattern file 628 or later.
