OCX for DRO development.

Hello All:
I've never contributed to the DRO part of this list so I thought I'd like
to contribute something. I have uploaded an OCX for creating DRO
applications under WinXP or Win2K to the Master5 Yahoo groups files section.
I will also drop it into the CAD_CAM_DRO files section so people don't have
to search for it.
It is programmed to read quadrature encoders at 25Khz and display the
results. Many functions are included in the OCX for controlling digital
readout, spindles, printer port outputs etc...
Example skeletons are provided in VB and VC. This OCX is released to the
public domain.
There is no registration and any programs made using it may be sold, traded
or given away.
While I do feel that dedicated hardware like Dan Maush's is a better
soltuion for encoder reading, I release this to those who have no ISA slot
and wish to read their encoders or linear encoders through 2 printer ports.
It will read up to 3 encoders and take care of calculating the readouts. The
controls may be simply dropped onto your programs as encoder displays or you
can just deal with the numbers.. The OCX comprises incremental and absolute
counters to make it easier to keep track of things. It has a dual watchdog
system for safety of the outputs and has a drag and drop reset button that
takes care of monitoring the software system for reliability. It also has 16
offset memories which automatically reflect in the calculations of position.
The Doc's are not the best, but will get better. I just figured some people
may want the power to create their own DRO applications for specific needs.
There is a program called DriverAndOCXLoader.exe in the directory to load
the driver and register the OCX. If the program passes the test phase, your
ready to use the examples or create your own programs based on the DRO
engine. (It also means your XP or Win2K system is Mach1 Compatible.)
Good luck,
