XY Plasma Cutting table

Hello. My name is Filipe Tomaz from Portugal

I made a XY table for plasma cutting with stepper motors with PWM and
two encoders from a mouse. See it in:

The table is very poor in results due to a lack of good feedback (the
encoders are very poor) and the two DC motors also don't have a good
performance.

I'm thinking in building a new one.

I found it hard to decide if I should use stepper motors or servo
motors. Some experienced people have told me to use servo motors
driven by the Gerko drives.

1 - Do you have any sugestion ?
2 - Do you want to colaborate (sharing info) ?
3 - Do you know were to find the Gerko's in Europe or the motors by a
good price (I should be living in the US!)
