Ok.... I'll put in my two cents worth about moving or non-moving gantry, if
one has a large cnc, let's say a around 8' or so , then yes, if it is that
large of a machine, than it should be commercially built for the moving
gantry to be very rigid.... but like most of us "hobby" cnc folks, with
smaller machines, than a non-moving gantry will work just fine, as a mater
of fact, they are much easier / cheaper to build. One thing to remember
is, application, yes, depending on what application the machine is to be
used for.....
