Hi list,
My name is George Wealleans. I have just joined the list, and have spent
the last couple of weeks reading the correspondence. Quite an active
bunch, aren't you. Good to see. I sent this message about a week ago, but
it never got through, somehow.
I currently don't have anything in the way of CNC gear, but I have some
bits and pieces from old printers and the like, with which to
experiment. I hope to get cracking on something shortly. There are
others, down this way, who are also interested. I use CAD 2000i, self
taught, and hope to be able to interface the drawing aspects with some sort
of machine. I am probably looking towards the routing / engraving side of
things, at the moment. Too many other projects going.
I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. I have spent 31 years in the
Telecommunications industry, as a technician, but currently make plastic
bags. My interest in electronics, and computing, and model railway, is
still fairly strong. I am seriously involved with a local Technical
Museum. (Ferrymead Heritage Park http://www.ferrymead.org.nz/ )
I am also looking into the control of model railway signalling, using
computers and stepping motors. Probably more a Robotics thing. Getting
time to do all these things, is the main bug bear.
Cheers,
Jawj,
Just left of Down Under.
