Plotter OT

This subject is really OFF-TOPIC, so could any of you that reply do so
off-list direct to me via wotisname@...

I have a HP 7475A Plotter and want to use it to try to directly place a
circuit directly on to copper clad board for my DRO project.

It hasn't been used for sometime and has never been connected to my present
computer. It needed cleaning and in doing so I may have moved the DIP
switches which select serial port settings. I may not have it set-up right
in Win98 on this machine. I may have a duff serial cable, but it was used
before with this plotter.

It powers up and does a self test page but there doesn't seem to be anything
coming from the computer. I have tried it on the original computer with no
response and on my main system, where control of the mouse pointer is lost
when anything is sent to the plotter.
