MY CNC MILL IS working, thanks to this group and several notable
individuals. So, in order of appearance:
Bill Anliker, and THIS LIST for providing little bits and pieces,
links, and hints in a constructive, focused, non-argumentative style.
Nicolas Carter of Carter tools for help in selecting, and REALLY
FAST delivery of a TAIG CNC-READY mill. http://www.cartertools.com
Dan Mauch of Camtronics for a great 2A motor control board.
http://www.seanet.com/~dmauch
Ray Henry for the EMC BDI. http://www.linuxcnc.org
John Hollcraft of Mendonet offering Sanyo Denki step motors.
http://www.mendonet.com/cnclinks
FOR THE NEWBIE: Be prepared to spend time and money if you want to
do this. It took me 5 months, and $2500 to get to this point (more
if you need to buy a computer, soldering iron, multimeter, etc).
There are many ways to put one of these together, and I doubt if any
two are exactly the same. It can be frustrating at times trying to
find a source for hardware, software, or information. You may go
down some dead-ends and need to back-track.
but
Wow! it it ever worth it!
