Mike - you are a super genius!
These are exactly the problems I have not been succesfull in over coming.
The helical interp. is somthing that has confounded me for a long time. I am
no programer, so the things you have said go over my head, at the moment,
but as I study the code I will probrobly be able to see things more clearly.
I know I have done a terrible job hacking the code, especialy when it
comes to adding canned cycles, but it works. I also want to add backlash
comp. but have been unsuccesful in that as well.
I am a tool maker and the man I work for is super cool about letting me
use the machines in the off time. I built my minimill out of steel, with
hardened, surface ground ways, and preladed ballscrews. The thing weighs
almost 500 lbs. I also designed a mini taper/retension knob system for the
spindle, so that I can remove tools by depressing a spring that is in the
spindle shaft. Now I just have to get around to making some more tool
holders.
A rotary table must be nice! you have done some great work, and I am glad
to know I am not the only one with pic-servos making chips.
Do you mind if Email you privately as I continue to make the changes you
have made?
Thanks,
andrew-kn6za@...
