The windows software that I use for these tasks is available for free
download from
http://www.joshmadison.com/software/convert/

Convert is fully functional with no nag screens or limitations. Registration
is optional, the author just wants to know who is using the program.

It has some minor usability irritations but nothing that has convinced me to
fire up VB yet.
