I have been very grateful that Jake(jbordens) has asked most of the
questions that I've had lately. I'm doing effectively the same
conversion he is.
Based on the answers to his questions, I have compiled a simple excel
calculator to help in my motor sizing decision - I'm just not sure
I've got all the formulae correct - I'm hoping that the List
can "peer review" it so as to provide a solid tool for all. I've
uploaded it to the files site and labeled it MotorCalcs-7-24Beta.xls.
There are also a few items that I'm still a little fuzzy on:
1) How to determine what is an average or max feed speed
2) How to determine if I've got enough "push" - linear force
generated.
3) How to determine the average amp draw from the motors - which
torque value do I use to calculate this (see excel file)
