Clone conversion kits have been used by many on this list - with
excellent results. They are the lowest price leaders I'm aware of, you
can expect to pay around $800 for X, Y and the yoke.
Watch out for subtle differences between different clones. Rockford
have experience with more than a dozen different clones.
My kit was purchased from them lat year and I have been delighted
with it performance. Expect near zero backlash and .003" per foot as
the maximum error is the rolled lead screw.
