Servo to go card's

Hello,

Are there great advantages in using motion control cards such as the ISA
Servo to go card? I am considering writing my own windows based software
(pulse timing wont be a problem as there is no need to step dir pulses) to
control the card, I am wondering if this would be useful to anyone else or
am I wasting my time?

Perhaps my software could support the www.rutex.com step and dir pulse
generator?

Do the dos cnc interpreter's really have much advantage over the window's
based one's?

Is software the only reason people arent using the servo to go card? I know
that EMC supports the card but Linux is beyond many people and is a pain if
you dont already have a linux box. Or is it the price of the card?

Is there something that is lacking from pc controllers that industrial
controllers have?

What features would people like to see in software to control both the servo
to go card and rutex pulse generator?

Thankyou in advance!

Jason Cox.
