boos3/4 freq drive fiasco

I have a boss 3,that I'm told was factory retro'd to a boss4.I have a teco freq drive,and the way it's wired(wrong),it bypasses some essential relays in the barrel switch,which is completely bypassed,due to the feedback(?)that the big switch would give to the freq drive.We put in another switch to give the low voltage forward- reverse input to the drive.The spindle turns on,the servos work,but the limit switches don't..I was told that the switching of forward -reverse would drop the voltage all the way to zero,causing the 'puter to quack.Any help would be cool.I'm dumb,and I only do this 'cause I like the smell of cutting oil.I'm using Machinemaster's control,which I hope to kluge in with my mastercam.I want to use the freq drive,and the old barrel switch together.Are they anathema?Thanks,Doug
