Ken,

First I need to know what type tool changer you are going to use. I have
seen three types.

One type is a pneumatic manual changer. The second type is where the tools
are all lined up in a row. The third is where the tools are in circular
changer.

First, there are various ways of setting the tool length. Some may all be
the same length or you can use a tool length table.

The position is the next challenge. If the tools are lined up in a row, you
will need to where the next tool is after first putting away the previous
tool. Once you select the tool and insert it with the pneumatic changer and
adjust for tool length, the controller should move the tool to the last
previous position or to the next cutting position. The circular changer is
easier. First you put away the current tool and then select the next tool
and adjust for tool length.
