Re: Another Try

I had an Ah-ha 4 axis card as my first try at CNC on a mill drill,
using Gecko 201s. I used it a few times, then saw the performance
difference of Ah-ha vs. EMC vs. Flashcut at the NAMES show a couple
years ago. I sold the Ah-ha system, and switched to EMC as a
control, still used the Geckos for drives, and was much happier with
the smoothness of motion. Maybe the latest Ah-ha is smoother? Now I
am waiting for Art's Mach1 control to be finished, as it replaces EMC
for me (I'm not a Linux person). So far Mach1 is in Alpha stage, but
very impressive performance and features in realtime under Win2K,
WinXP.
