I know little about it really. I should do some reading. I noticed the "front Pages" of sites that tell you about it, make it sound like you grab a drummed up "Clipart" object, ( I read as a slab of
material) and then select a few buttons as to what you want to do with it. Doesn't sound all that different than what we do now !
As far as fiddling with this stuff at your machine which Browser will we use ? Netscape is terrible, Mozilla isn't Done, IE... Well, Keep bug patching. Thinking that most companies can't do away
with drawings anyhow, it seems like one already has what you need to make a part. X,Y,Z locations isn't rocket science. But Again, I do not know much about it, just suspicious in my old age and
starting to keep more of what I make in my pocket.
It's no secret that companies are desperately searching for "something new to sell", with the internal idea of how to make MY money THEIR money ! I mean, did you notice that they didn't make 400cc 4
wheelers right of the bat ? Nope, they made a 110, then the 125, then the 200 etc.... See, they gotta do this right in order to have something to sell next year !
We'll see how things pan out when all the worker bees get the bosses to fork out the cash for it.
I think your right, G code for most of us will be here for a long time. Think about this, they don't have the bugs out of THAT technique (software mostly) yet. Why would I think this will be any
better ??
I can see it now,...Using MS FrontPage 2005 to get Machine work done. Gates is into everything!
Just Feelin' whiny,
Chris
