I have a Foredom flex-shaft grinder with the handpiece you
described. The body is 1" in diameter, and the flex shaft is 3/8". The
handpiece comes with several standard size collets, so it might be an idea
to have a small Jacobs chuck with a 1/4" arbor, to hold those in-between
size drills.
