Hi,

Anyone knows anything about Wabeco CNC D6** series lathes? Found a
few links below, but hoping for more info.

GUIDEWAYS
One site says wabeco lathe use round guideways, which seem to be a
plus w.r.t. collection of wear inducing swarf.

20info1.htm
Any negative points about round guideways that anyone can think of?

FEEDSCREW
The standard feedscrew are driven via toothbelt with no anti-backlash
nut, but with original hand control remaining operative

What are the plus and minus points about this?

CONTROLLER
What kind of controller does the Wabeco CNC lathe. One site refers to
bipolar stepped motors but there was no mention of whether it is step-
direction, phase, etc.

SOFTWARE

Software is DOS-based. Comments from users solicited.

Comments
I,m looking for CNC software for my Wabeco Milling machine. This is a
PC controlled small milling machine. The orignal software
(PcDreh/Pclathe) is not very good. I want a program with
radiuscompensation in it as well the possibility to import DXF files.
All suggestions are welcome.

Many thanks

Peter
