FIRST LOOKS: TurboCadCam

A download for TurboCadCam is finally available. I have only had it
one day, so this review is a "first look."
First, TurboCadCam is TurboCad PRO v8 with a CAM plug-in. It supports
2-axis milling (per their documentation). Most of us call it 2.5,
because it can move the Z (does pocketing, etc). The CAM module shows
up as a window to the right (as a default) of the main drawing window.
After you create the part, you can either run a CAM wizard, or use
menu items / icons to provide the necessary CAM information. You
select the machine, define the part stock dimensions, define the
tools, set g-code options and 3D modeling settings (for
simulations/backplot).
The next step is to define what operations you want to do. Performing
an operation on your 2-D drawing turns the drawing into 3-D.
Pocketing, profiling, drill operations, etc.
