limit/home switches

Hi,
I have a 3d router table with only limit switches (+ and -)
installed, no separate home switches.
I'm going to use EMC to control the stepperdrives.
I'm thinking about wiring the - limit switches as the home switches
and using the + switches as limit switches.
Would this be dangerous ? eg. the controller could drive the axes
past home...
is it possible to wire the -limits to both the emc -limit and the
home input ??
