It seems that there is confusion on what is happening with the BUG BEAR WORM,
it is not coming from the group via Yahoo, attachments are all blocked to all
members.
What is happening is that infected computers are picking up mailing address
from that computer, and from any old mail stored in that computer, and then
sending out the worm under many different file names, and with various
suffixes. the infected computers don't even have to be current members,
just any that still have old mail and address from this group.
It is also counterfeiting the name of who is supposedly sending it. I have
written about 25 letters to the supposed sender, and all have come back as
undeliverable, no such address. It of course can also use a valid address if
it desires, (sounds like it is alive) It is also reported to be able to shut
down some virus scanners.
If you have a browser that automatically opens up these things you could
easily be infected and not even know it.
PLEASE, would everyone on the group scan you computer for this virus, make
sure you virus scan program has been updated within the last day or two, or
you are wasting your time. If you have an old program and need help then go
to:

http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

This is a site that will load a small program to your computer, scan and
repair everything, then remove itself from your computer. The program
contains all the latest information, so it will also scan for hundreds of
other virus/worms at the same time. Be sure to click on the repair button if
you want any required repairs done automatically.
I use it at least twice a month myself, besides using Norton, and Norton is
the latest, and upgraded daily, and I scan daily plus all the automatic that
Norton does.

PLEASE one way or another check your computer and make sure it is clean, and
keep it that way.

If you have any comments, remarks, arguments, please post them direct to me,

rather than cluttering up the list and archives
The reason I asked the thread to be dropped, is because most of the
information derived from the post itself is incorrect, and can solve nothing.
even where the information was correct, this is not the correct group. We
don't need to fill up the list, and archives with a big debate/yak on this
subject.
